I was skipping because the school was on fire (*shrug*) on 10/29.

6. What progress did you make today on your solution? What needs to be completed next class?

I did the questions of Step 3 today. I also began making my code for the first exercise. Tomorrow I will finish the Step 3 problems. I will also probably begin Step 4.

Today I read Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. Not all of it, but part of it, somewhat near the beginning. Most of this part was the narrator talking about his job and his new addiction to fight club. He was talking about how lackluster his job has become (not that it was particularly thrilling before; he is a car recall specialist). Tyler Durden, another main character, is portrayed as very mysterious in this book.

P.S. I'm sad I finished watching the movie first, now I know the twist :(

I was absent yesterday.

6. What progress did you make today on your solution? What needs to be completed next class?

Today I got two exercises done. Being very behind the class, I need to make much progress next class. The exercises I did today were the area and perimeter exercise, and the pizza cost one. Tomorrow hopefully I'll be able to complete the exercises. With luck, I'll make good time on the joke project as well.

1. What problems did you encounter while developing your solution? How do you plan to overcomethem?/How did you overcome them?

Today I had problems converting equations for the Fahrenheit/Celsius program. I fixed this problem by working it out and testing the equations against each other to check them. This workied because if A degrees Fahrenheit equals B degrees Celsius, then obviously B degrees Celsius should convert to A degrees Fahrenheit. This was a relatively easy problem to fix.

Today I was reading about different products on ThinkGeek.com. This will soon lead to me losing a lot of money. The rechargeable USB AA batteries are going to be a great product to purchase with the TurboCharger for my cell phone. Tthere was something called Swedish Fire Steel that will spark anywhere, and MayaDust will light anywhere, even when wet. This was very educational (and will be very expensive).

4. Are there any specific tips you would give to someone else tackling the same problem? How would what you suggest benefit that person in solving the problem?

I would tell someone trying to answer similar (or the same) questions to actually absorb what they read. While answering the questions I repeatedly referenced the chapter, and in doing so, managed to memorize most of it. This will be extremely useful in completing the exercises assigned. Anyone using this strategy will retain the information in the chapter better for a test. They will also have to use their book and ask questions less in future projects.

1. What problems did you encounter while developing your solution? How do you plan to overcome them?/How did you overcome them?

I was having some problems answering #10, the question about the code errors. I needed to go back and read the part of the chapter concerned with code malfunctions. This helped immensely, and I only have the last part of that question left to answer. Yet again, I will re-read the section about code errors in an attempt to fix it in my memory.

6. What progress did you make today on your solution? What needs to be completed next class?

Today I almost finished the critical reading questions. I began at 4 and am halfway through 10. Tomorrow in class I need to finish 10, 11, and 14 of the critical reading questions and begin work on my exercised. To catch up, I need to take the book home and read (and possibly re-read) the chapters on Variables. If I read tonight, tomorrow I'll be able to make fast progress on the rest of my work.

Today I started my book "The Birth of Venus." The preface was about a nun named Lucrezia who died from a tumor. Although, upon her death, they discovered that it was in face a pig's bladder that had been stuck on her breast, and not a tumor at all. I am at a loss as to why she died if it was not because of a tumor, but I hope I will find out in the rest of the book. She also had a very interesting tatoo, but nobody knew, because they were very strict about no one being able to look upon anyone else's body, or indeed their own.
